Departing for CA on 8/20/15 from Harrisburg, PA

We're heading out West again on 8/20/15.  Leaving from Harrisburg we'll be flying to San Francisco International and meeting up with Jim's brother and sister-in-law who are Palo Alto residents.  We'll be staying at their home and venturing further down the California coast visiting Carmel and the Hearst Castle areas.  We'll be staying in that area of CA for about a week and then we board the Coast Starlight train (about a 24 hr ride) in San Jose, headed all the way up the West coast to Seattle where we'll be meeting with Ben, our younger son, who's a resident of Washington State.  We'll then be traveling by ferry from downtown Seattle over to the Kitsap Peninsula where Ben's residence is. Also visiting with Ben (and us) will be Sheila's two sisters, Monica and Wendy (coming from PA) and her brother Ken and his partner, Darrell (coming from Denver).  Ben has been living out in the Northwest for over (5) years and this is the first visit out to see him for his aunts and uncle.  As part of our visit to the Northwest we'll be driving up to Port Angeles, WA, where we'll be taking the passenger ferry across the straits of Juan de Fuca to the harbor city of Victoria on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.  An overnight stay there will be highlighted with the girls attending a high tea at the Empress Hotel along the harbor in Victoria while Jim, Ken, and Darrell will be having lunch at the famous Bombay Room also in the Empress.  Upon our return the next day to Port Angeles we'll all be heading up into Olympic National Park where we'll be hiking along the beautiful Hurricane Ridge, one of the highest points in that area of the state.  We then return to our overnight stay areas near Ben's lakeside property (outside of Seabeck, WA) and will be returning to PA on Sept 8.  I will insert photos and text into this blog as we travel and I hope you are able to access it and see where we've been.  Thanks for taking a look.  Jim
